Was it a dream ??!!

She had only seen him, loved him but didn’t really   know that he was a rich boy , from a rich family A neat, rich bungalow with a green lawn and trees all around is what she saw at first. The small little green corners with benches and fruit bearing trees indeed brought out the beauty of the garden, the gardener not knowing her, still smiled and spoke politely. It’s a dream, and as a dreamer you can be in many places at the same time, see what you want to see, talk with whom you want to talk to Through the riches of the house and the beauty of the garden , all she wanted is to see love in his eyes for her. While she climbed the staircase, some how it felt that his bedroom was upstairs, she saw him. The smiling face now looked gloomy and sad. They exchanged a smile and that’s about it !. She could see the pain in his eyes, still coping with the ditch of his ex. Nor was he surprised nor happy to see her around. Everyone has an ex or had an ex, and some carry regrets , so ...

Hold on to the hope...

With the world shutting down due to a virus, some lost their jobs, other addicted to their investment grumbled when they saw a fall in economy, some took up hobbies and still others hogged ! Looking at all the new recipes tried and tested, I was left wondering how they had the patience or the time to invest in these delicious dishes. I was just a few miles away from becoming insane, perhaps I was not mentally prepared on how a shutdown would be. I saw tough days , with a stupid fridge ditching on me and the routine of cleaning the house totally lost, it was hopeless but yet I knew I had to hold on. So I hold on to hope that better days would arrive! I just went with the flow, strived to do my very best every day, lost couple of kgs and today, I would say , I survived the worst ! I had hit rock bottom but hold on to the flickering hope that I saw. I am ready to face yet another year of lockdown …. So what if people cooked when I couldn’t even dream of buying stuff to store in a frid...

The shock, the betrayal, the realization

Image
Once in a while to get cheated is a good thing, it makes you realize that you don’t know it all and if you let your guard down you can be consumed by this evil All said and done, not really sure how many of you know about internet love scam. The aim, its just your money ! the steps followed is simple, be friend a girl, she could be married and going through a painful divorce , just a single ready to mingle types or a loner who is just trying to meet some nice people on the net. Remember the weakness is your loneliness, they devour you if they can figure out that ! Once they can figure out who is the victim, the next step is to establish a connection. A short Friendship is followed by the most dangerous words, I am in love with you. While it can take sometimes a decade to fall in love with a person, for a internet scammer, they confess their true love within a month or maybe sometimes even less. The lady is already going through a lonely phase , with all the affectio...

Whats special about this pic !.. Read on… It’s one of those days when I visited the Panjim market to meet the tailor. It was just an adjustment and it wouldn’t take too long. Considering the big line of eagerly waiting tailors to make a quick morning buck, I decided to go with this sweet looking muslim whose burka obviously indicated the religion. I gave instruction on what I needed and observed her as she did the rest. My observation led to an interesting insight which perhaps would have been ignored if I was in a rush. In her shop, there sat another lady busy stitching a bright yellow kurta. She was a hindu. And there I was , a Catholic, as their customer. All 3 religion under one roof !! . These ladies worked in such harmony. If a simple trade can bring two religion together, in such peace, where both are benefiting  from the trade why can’t the other things, the so called “bigger issues” in our own country and around the world ??
Happy Friendship Day With friendship day just around the corner am sure on “THE DAY” your whatsapp will be filled with some very sweet friendship day messages. Some of the messages are so well tweeted that they really make you feel good the moment   you receive it, lets don’t deny this ! But my question to you is this, how many of those who will be forwarding you a message are really indeed your friends ? Definitions of a friend are plenty on the internet but for me, a friend is someone who is beyond just mere acquaintances, they are people who have been around when you have faced a difficulty, a person who lends a shoulder to cry on, a person you will just rush to your aid in an emergency.. that is a true friend. Imagine yourself in a scenario, let say you are sick or there has been a death in your family. What is your expectation from a friend during such a scenario ? isn’t he/she someone who should be there by your side helping you, isn’t this a basic standard of a fr...

Straight Thinking

Last Friday, precisely, got to know about the rainbow walk. A gathering of transgenders and gays celebrating their identity and life. If I had joined the group , of course with a band around my hand that states that I am straight, I would have enjoyed a good walk , supported a cause which I am sure attracted very less crowd,  and  by the time I reached Miramar , I  may have made some friends along the way. Perhaps you may wonder what  drew my attention to this cause . Maybe the fact that our  society is just too normal and no one would have time or would be interested in supporting  these special adults, a term that I have kept aside for them instead of GAY . It would feel a little odd , no doubt ,but it was not the odd feeling that kept me away from joining this walk, it was the fear of the society that I am part of. What if  my pic  appeared in the press, it  would not just get Miramar talking but the entire Goa. I assume I have friends ev...

Aiding AIDS

Aiding AIDS Broken souls amidst a competitive society, perhaps it wasn’t even their fault! AIDS a diseases once feared and dreaded amongst the literate lot of our fast growing world still creates an awakening. Technologies may have changed, life styles may have improved but how many of us have really taken time out to think of, maybe, a special case AIDS patient we have known ? With just the basic knowledge that it is an Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome and mostly not contagious unless you are in close touch with blood fluids of the infected person , I really did not give a thought to the thousands who are suffering of it and   how , due to the lack of understanding from people that surround them, their world closes down to emptiness. Reading inspiring quotes and life stories   on the internet, I recollect   a case where a woman stands by her husband’s death bed, a man dying at a very young age of 32 years only, later to be told that he was dying of AIDS. T...
