Happy Friendship Day

With friendship day just around the corner am sure on “THE DAY” your whatsapp will be filled with some very sweet friendship day messages. Some of the messages are so well tweeted that they really make you feel good the moment  you receive it, lets don’t deny this !

But my question to you is this, how many of those who will be forwarding you a message are really indeed your friends ? Definitions of a friend are plenty on the internet but for me, a friend is someone who is beyond just mere acquaintances, they are people who have been around when you have faced a difficulty, a person who lends a shoulder to cry on, a person you will just rush to your aid in an emergency.. that is a true friend. Imagine yourself in a scenario, let say you are sick or there has been a death in your family. What is your expectation from a friend during such a scenario ? isn’t he/she someone who should be there by your side helping you, isn’t this a basic standard of a friend ??!! if you have gone through this scenario let me ask you future, Did you have someone then ? if yes, that person is worthwhile keeping……………What about those who you thought would be there but suddenly didn’t turn up with reasons like “Hey am really sorry, I was busy “. Would you still tag this person a friend ? or you would also cook up or add to that statement and say, “yeah , I think person must have been busy , ill just forgive him/her, afterall we have been friends for a long time “. Boss, get one thing straight in your mind, your scenario was not the  types where your cat died (the unimportant types), you were sick or there has been a death , something great was not happening in your life which needed care and support. This is when a true friend has to pitch in and help. If he/she hasn’t, you may want to reconsider the friendship. If a friend is not going to be around during these scenario, when will they ?.

This friendship day, don’t just get carried away with messages , analyses that friend list and choose wisely those who are really friends, the rest are better kept as mere acquaintances ………………. Get smarter ! Happy friendship day !

As I looked up at the Wordweb software running on my computer and searched for the meaning of “Faith”, it showed me a couple of meanings, however the following caught my eye, it states “complete confidence in a person or plan”. Whats special about this pic !.. Read on… It’s one of those days when I visited the Panjim market to meet the tailor. It was just an adjustment and it wouldn’t take too long. Considering the big line of eagerly waiting tailors to make a quick morning buck, I decided to go with this sweet looking muslim whose burka obviously indicated the religion. I gave instruction on what I needed and observed her as she did the rest. My observation led to an interesting insight which perhaps would have been ignored if I was in a rush. In her shop, there sat another lady busy stitching a bright yellow kurta. She was a hindu. And there I was , a Catholic, as their customer. All 3 religion under one roof !! . These ladies worked in such harmony. If a simple trade can bring two religion together, in such peace, where both are benefiting  from the trade why can’t the other things, the so called “bigger issues” in our own country and around the world ??

Positive Vibes

Positive Vibrations Just imagine yourself seating in a room and in enters two person's, first one is standing tall, shoulders straight, head high, looks at you and gives you a pleasant smile as if to say “hope you doing fine“, the second, a hunch back, very tensed face, looking towards the floor as if there is some puck on it, leaving you totally uncomfortable, which one would you turn to for help or perhaps for directions to the nearest post office.
